Welcome eCoach members!

This blog will serve as a discussion place, in addition to the School Fusion message boards, for the 2008-2009 eCoach team.

As an eCoach member, it is important that you are a lifelong learner. Not only should you use our training sessions to learn new ways to integrate technology in the classroom, but you should seek out new knowledge on your own to share with other members and the teachers at your school. Through this blog, we will discuss important issues in the integration of technology and meeting the needs of today's learners.

Please find time to check out any readings members may cite. If you reference an article/book, please cite it so others can read it too.

As the opening message stated, eCoach members should be seeking new knowledge to share with other eCoach members as well as teachers on your staff. Feel free to share any information you feel would benefit the group as we strive to Engage 21st Century Learners!

I would suggest first familiarizing yourself with the 21st Century expectations from our State Board of Education if you have not already done so!

The 21st Century Skills have been introduced at the elementary level through the social studies dept. via Nicky- the future ready elementary student. This link includes a colorful poster of Nicky as well as a podcast.

And then there is Route 21....
The Partnership for 21st Century Skills is making available to educators Route 21, an interactive tool to help educators incorporate 21st century skills into schools and classrooms. The tool allows for reader input, equivalent to Amazon, and provides an interactive locale to share best practice. For 21st century skills-related information, resources and community tools, please go online to http://www.21stcenturyskills.org/route21.
